Welcome back to what we like to call Castology, because that is the name of our podcast. This week seems to be our Punctuation in Podcast Titles Week, as we bring you recommendations of RISK!, Philosophize This! and Who The Hell is Hamish? As always, Liz, Patrick and Zane then move on to reviewing what they recommended last week.
Liz Recommends - Who The Hell Is Hamish?
He was born Hamish Watson, a surfie dude from Sydney – but he could morph into whatever you needed him to be.
Hamish is due to be sentenced to jail in early 2019 for swindling a handful of victims out of more than $7m. But these crimes are just the final pages in a resume too thick to staple; for decades he’s duped victims in the US, Canada, Britain, Hong Kong and Australia.
How did he do it? How did he evade authorities around the world for so long and what’s he done with all those tens of millions of dollars he stole?
From The Australian newspaper comes this podcast that does a deep dive into just who the hell Hamish whoever his last name is, well is, and the extent of his crimes and deception is mind boggling.
For Both: Start from the start because it's a serial podcast.
Pat Recommends: Philosphize This!
He was born Stephen West and I think remains so. Stephen likes philosophy and wants you to also like philosophy as well. Each episode is delivered in delicious 20-30 minute bite size chunks, and each episode covers a philosophical movement or philosophical philosopher. Each episode often leads into the next one so I find it best to binge these in chunks.
For Zane & Liz: I started with The Frankfurt School and binged form there, but start wherever you wish.
Zane Recommends - RISK!
This is a podcast that Zane has been listening to for YEARS. He was an early adopter of the podcast and has fallen in and out of love with it many times over those years. RISK! is a live show and podcast where people tell true stories they never thought they’d dare to share in public, hosted by Kevin Allison. The award-winning live show happens monthly in New York and Los Angeles and has featured people like Janeane Garofalo, Lisa Lampanelli, Margaret Cho, Marc Maron, Sarah Silverman.
For Pat: Raw
