It's been a wild time for us at Dungeon Deep Dive, and due to a number of factors (new host, holidays, Tully forgetting to check the goddamn mics) we'll be taking a holiday hiatus. Rest assured, that doesn't mean you'll have to go without quality content, it just won't be quite as much.

When we think of plagues, the black death is surely the most iconic (and terrifying) example.

This week, Tully gets right into the nuts and bolts of how to build a disease for optimal virulence. We check out symptoms, systems, and modes of transmission, before breaking into some fictional and real examples. Then Lachlan talks about the realities of plague life. We go into the social heartbreak that the plague brought with it, why it might not be the culprit we think it is, and mistake fiction for reality with the Masque of the Red Death. Dungeons and Dragons has become one of the world's favourite fantasy tabletop games, and with the advent of fifth edition it quickly skyrocketed into the public eye.
