When Mari Stracke slid into the DMs of a famous person, she had no idea they'd end up doing way more than just being pen pals. But then things got weird... This is one true Hollywood story you don't want to miss.
Mari Stracke is a German Writer-Producer-Comedian who has been working in the British film industry for over a decade. She also enjoys an engaged following of 47k on Instagram where she advocates for mental health and body-positivity.
In 2006 Mari moved to the UK to study film directing and producing at Newport Filmschool. Passionate about empowering young women, Mari taught filmmaking in Germany for a year before finishing her MA in Scriptwriting at prestigious Goldsmiths, University of London in 2011. As a student she won various script awards, received BAFTA bursaries to attend industry events and later was a runner up of the well-known Euroscript competition as well as of Pinewood’s Enter The Pitch competition 2018.
Mari is currently gigging as a stand-up comedian whilst also working on her first novel focusing on her own journey with PTSD.
She is based in London but travels frequently and enjoys a rather nomadic lifestyle.
